Lucas and Bonnie came for a visit

Bonnie and Lucas came for a visit this afternoon after I got home from work. Just the thing to take my mind off the renovations and smell of adhesive that is permeating the department. Lucas was really enjoying the Lego - brought back memories and made me realize that this Lego has been around for about 30 years!!! Lego just doesn't go out of style and boys certainly love the wheels and roads.

Renovations & stuff

Here is a photo of the reception area of the Diagnostic Imaging department at Kootenay Lake Hospital now that the desk and about 4 tonnes of dust have been removed. The light spot on the carpet is where my chair has rolled around about a million times. The silvery area in the middle of the light area is where we put duct tape over the holes that my chair wore in the carpet. The duct tape was also wearing thin!




This is where my desk is at the moment and all of our items that are necessary for a couple of days while the carpet is ripped out and lino is installed. Vicki and I are either giggling insanely or high on the fumes of the lino adhesive!
It is a bit more physical because everything is lined up along one side of the hall so that we can get stretchers past, into the xray rooms. There is a threat that all will be finished over the weekend and we will be able to move back on Monday morning.

Spring in the Kootenays

This is the last photo from my trip to Victoria, on the way back home, just at the summit of the Blueberry-Paulson. I had hoped to include the sign that notes the altitude of 1535 metres but missed it because of the clouds. As you can see, the road is bare and wet but there is plenty of snow on the side of the road.
And these are the best kind of winter conditions that Jimmy drives in all the time!











































I took these photos from my bedroom window last Sunday morning. Then I went outside and investigated - my tulips that have been bravely making their way into the world are all chewed. The crocuses are now blooming so I guess they aren't first choice for deer. This is the first year that my tulips have been chewed but last fall the "neighborhood dog", Brewster, died and I think that he may have been the reason that my tulips were not chewed before.
There is still plenty of snow in the front yard but as of Wednesday, none on the deck!

Keremeos

This was taken just outside of Keremeos, the orchards totally bare. I made it to the ferry in plenty of time for the 5PM ferry. Kevin was delighted that I could come to help him out and so was I.
Left his freezer filled with several meals. He had his staples removed on Thursday and will have another week off before he returns to work. The cats are really enjoying his time at home. He hasn't had this much time off since high school.

Kevin's appendectomy evolved into a Mom trip

This was the view as I came up over the top of the Anarchist summit, overlooking Osoyoos. The weather was much better than predicted.

Lor hosted Jimmy's birthday dinner.

Emily's birthday

Emily is now 11 and she wanted a rainbow birthday cake so I did my best. Dinner at my house!
